26th August 2018 marked the day that Mushin Care program under Mushinkan Academy organised a fund raising event for the Food Bank @ Beach Street. Kevin, one of our student lead this event. We named the event "Samurai X Food Bank". It was a meaningful event for all of us as we get to contribute in raising funds in helping the under privileged families. This event was under Mushin care program, where it is a platform for Mushinkan students/anyone that would like to involved themselves in charity events and helping others.
We get up at 5am, gathered at Beach street to set up our booth.
Besides selling food, we also did a fun Samurai Showdown Video session to those that donated rm20. The video were made and sent straight to participants phone where they get their own 15 seconds video of samurai choreography. Sensei and fellow dojokas also did some Aikido and Mushinryu demonstration beside the booth.
Crowds gathered around and lots of people taking photos, videos of them. We folded many paper cranes and we gave those that donated as a small token of appreciation. :)
After the event, we gathered in dojo, where Sensei gave us all a briefing on which part we could have done better. We cheers together to celebrate the success of the event and crushed the paper cups together signifying that the problem from the past is over and we will learn from our mistake and improve further next time! :D
