Everything's connected with Aikido you just need to discover it!
Aikido has bee around for almost a 100+ years now however the traditions of the Martial Art is the same. It is always a blessing that a martial art keeps their traditions alive and well. However in my humble opinion it should be open to evolution.
The Journey
Throughout my Martial Arts journey of almost 5 years now I've trained at Mushinkan Academy. The Dojo's sensei, Franky always teaches techniques in different ways. For example I wasn't really that good at my Kihon Doza (6 Basic Techniques) when I first started out in Aikido, however I was more familiar with Mushin-Ryu styled Kenjitsu.
Although at a glance both martial arts would not be related, one being hand-to-hand while the other being weaponry based the sensei explained it in a way that connected them both together. The stance and position of the hands and legs are the same as a Chuu-dan no kamae (Chuu-Dan stance).
This was one of the many examples that sensei helped to guide us on these connections.

When I start to see more connections and gain more insights in my martial arts journey I will be posting my discoveries in this student blog.
